LOUSY'S PEEP SHOW

Presented by Eaton HK

12 - 26 Mar 2023

3 - 8pm (30 minutes per viewing session)

5/F Artist Studio (Room 526), Eaton HK

Lousy's Peep Show is an immersive exhibition by local artist Lousy at Artist Studio, 5/F, Eaton HK.

Splashed across the Artist Studio, from the bed to the shower, Lousy will fill the room with his new series of work which marks a breakthrough for lousy‘s world building venture, introducing more chaos & viscerality into his working process. The work investigates the ideas of balance, perseverance and change. The viewers can interact with the vividly painted amenities, including bath robe, towels, plushies and rug during their visit.

To mark this special occasion, Lousy will be launching an exclusive merch for Eaton HK, an eye patch for dreamers from all around the world. The eye patch will be available for purchase in Colony Kids, G/F, Lobby, Eaton HK.

***please reserve your slot in advance***

LOUSY

Hong Kong native Lousy draws on all surfaces across all spaces, taking cues from the proactive and spontaneous energy of the streets. Lousy strips down his visual language to simplified, gestural, rhythmic lines with a bright palette. Responding to the saturation of information, the artist distills universally recognisable concepts into his stylised symbols like the prominent kiss face, the Buddha, and the all-seeing-eye. The repetitive deployment of his lexicon points to a prolonged obsession that sits at the heart of the artist‘s practice: a desire to liberate , project positivity, and celebrate life

With his dazzling murals with a distinctive style of wavy and rhythmic lines and doodles paired with neon colors, passersby often discover and recognize his works featuring on the the cultural fabric of the city, like walls, shutters and trucks in the streets and alleys of Yuen Long, Jordan, Sheung Wan, etc. Inspired by ancient mythologies, Japanese ACG cultures and Western punk music, his art distills the human experience, emotions and imaginations into visual forms, from love and sex to god and monster.
